Loved Mamola ….. Trans Atlantic Trophy in the 80’s Oulton Park ….. in the rain, so we’re up on the fence line …… every lap we flipped him off ….British style Two finger salute ….. mostly because he was a yank …. But also he was a great racer !!!! And a bit mouthy…!!??π€ͺπ so …. A few reasons….. (I’m my 20’s at the time) … his third lap …. Waterproofs flapping in the rain …!!! (Practice) small child 6-9 yrs old … standing with his mum in the rain, next to us …. ‘Mum, can I flip Randy Mam-Ola off too ..?!’ …. Mums terse response while sliding herself between our group, and her child …..’No you May Not …!!!’ Sneakily….. we kept giving the thumbs up to the kid the whole day …. He loved it πππ€ͺ ..!!
Saw him race flatrack as a Yong teenager, fearless
Who could forget him and Robert’s wheeling side by side. Won’t see anything like this in the current Moto GP
There's one at the PI museum. Not sure if it's a replica or the real deal .
Saw him doing this on that bike at Donnington..a real crowd pleaser..
Yes a legend on the Cagiva where careers went to die.

Those pipes are ugly for sure, when i owned an RD 350 i liked the original pipes and when i owned a RD 350 LC i put on a set of purpose built expansion chambers that worked good and added more power without breaking the sound law too much when in low revs, you can build good pipes without sacrificing looks and power and noise.
Went to Matlock yesterday and RD400, (well it might have been something else) Had some well sounding pipes
Expansion pipes are OK. But the ones with separate silencers are too modern for classic 2 strokes.
Had the KH 400 in green Cracking bike π
Drum brakes still in 1980? And no mag wheels? Bummer
Les silencieux des pots de détente font trop modernes, du moins à mon goût, sinon oui, les échappements sont sympa.

The one I passed my test on literally came out of a museum which was once located in the stables of Nostel Priory. The chap who sold it had a number of bikes there and was a work colleague of my father's. I remember he had a Sunbeam, but that's not a 2 stroke so shouldn't be mentioned.
My D10 was a 175 3 speed. D14/4 was a 175 4 speed.
Tiger Cub was mine then I discovered 2stroke β€οΈ

I have owned more H-1s and H-2s than I can remember. Glad that I'm still here to talk about it. Overpowered, evil handling motorcycles with sub-standard brakes. π
Ive owned an H2 and a couple H1’s. Some with chambers and a little tune. They were quick but some of the things I see posted make me laugh! Top speeds, wheelies in fourth gear etc…
Years ago...Had two months swinging on this 750 speedway monster before I chickened out and decided to live a bit longer. I remember the rider taking off in 2nd gear, full revs, 80mph before first corner.
My H2 750 was my favorite of all the bikes I've ever owned. They woke up quite a bit with the right expansion chambers on them.
If you could just hang on for 12.6 seconds... I remember those days where horsepower was way ahead of handling. I did live through it, though. And most of my skin.
Wish I still had mine, Harley guys mad that their 1200s were getting smoked by a little 500
A Kawa Mach III for $999. Those were the days.
I had one of these when I was 16 very very bad bike for a 16 year old who wants to live till 17. Unbelievable acceleration and realy poor steering and handling.
I had a Mach III in the 70’s. Very fast in its day! Too much front end weight around corners though! I’m lucky to be here!
A bit of port and polish really helped them breathe. Too bad the suspension was scary at speed. At 6k rpm the front wheel would come up a foot off the road and was easy to hold there.
I remember My had a kawasaki 100
Still got my H1B and still riding it.
I had a 1969 white Mach 111. Very fast and few could ride it to full potential. I’m lucky to have survived.
Summer of 75 had laid my 900 down an was at the dealership ordering parts. Was going to be awhile before all the parts would arrive. Summers in WY are short. The dealer had some left over 74 H2 750’s see he could make me shell of a deal on. He said take one for a ride. I think I paid between 12 to 13 hundred for it. Wasn’t a bike or car town that would run with it in the 1/4 ! Don’t know how I lived thru it !
I remember when it arrived it changed every thing, Nortons, BSA, Triumph all Beautiful but now slow.
Great bike went fast.....then were gone fast ...thousands of dollars you can get them back (when they run right)to beating one of my many 750-4s that still haven't been opened up yet, and are still running..and before I hear it yes I have ridden them I do own a triple...needs lots of work...own a 500 triple motor..needs lots of work..I like turn key and ride...when it is time...but appreciate these for sure.
They took one out the crate put a set of expansion pipes on and a mild tune got sun 11 second quarter miles.
I had a 750 it was bored out 30,000 overboard wisco dome top racing Pistons expansion chambers newer bigger jets Turned it into a screaming death machine, but I was to young to be scared of it. Just idling it sounded like it was running on alcohol.they make good drag bikes and that's where they belong,on the drag strip not on the street βοΈ
I went from a 1968 350cc Kawasaki Avenger Scrambler to this Monster, just kicked all bikes Ass's.
When I was 18 in 78', I made a deal with a guy on a 500 Mach 3 for $500. I went to get it on that next Friday and the ASSHOLE sold it for 6.
I seen a Suzuki 750 water π§ Buffalo π dyno out some very impressive numbers back in the day, they sounded great but were heavy and didn't sell very well
Just a quick question. My 500 triple came with spin on exhaust to cylinder head clamps which were constantly coming loose. Most of the pictures I see show them using two bolts. Anyone else have my issue? One of the more fun and better looking bikes I’ve owned.
Got 10,s out of mine
How quick would the 750 do the quarter?
Had a Mach 3 when they first came out. Loved the rush of power when you twisted the throttle. Was only my second bike and didn't know what good handling allegedly was so if it had a crappy frame I didn't notice. Rode the hell out of it for 3 years, sold it and bought a 750 Norton Commando.

Here's a real 'blast from the pat' - who remembers these things then? - The 'Sidewinder' was designed to bolt onto your 250 (or whatever!) when the 125 learner laws came in in early 1983. This content isn't available at the moment
When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it, or it's been deleted.Actually these weren’t bad. We sold a GSX550 ESD to a lad who wanted a Sidewinder. The company that made them hadn’t done one for this bike before so I took the job of riding it to Cromer, Norfolk, from Brentwood, Essex. They measured and made everything while I went for lunch. An interesting ride home, π€. Apart from very low speed wobbles at walking pace, I hardly knew it was there.
Well I certainly remember them, thanked my lucky stars I'd passed my test. However hats off to those that thought of it and went this route. It was a sad day when they changed the laws, it certainly made a big dent in interest from potential young bikers taking it up. It was a long while ago and now the hurdles are crazy. I watched my son go through the latest 3 tier tests and while I agree that things needed tightening up they went way to far. I had to persuade him not to buy a 200bhp + car when he passed his car test and stick with his restricted MT07 and buy a sensible car. Now passed he still rides the MT07 albeit unrestricted and seems happy with the odd blast on my bikes.
Freddie Friths Grimsby used to have a parts shop upstairs remember buying a Stadium front mudguard for a 1967 Husqvarna 250 from there then nearly became a apprentice mechanic there..
Made in north Norfolk… by a bloke called Alan Young… a friend of my parents was testing it for him…I recently saw a picture of his LC with the sidewinder on it ,in anotherFB group…
Passed my test with one bolted to a GS250t Suzuki. It was ok, other than bouncing up & down around right handers
There was one on a stand at Normous Newark last autojumble.
I worked for the company that made them . Freewheel uk. Used to make the trailers too π

I restored one and was actually very disappointed with it. Power valve was a nightmare to get parts.
Great bikes especially the 93 version
Got to be cheap at that price.
I'm rebuilding one at the moment
I had one sold it for £1700 about ten years ago ...gutted
They had power valve issues I recall

My first bike! Like Paul said. The fastest unicycle ever made. π¬
