Would turn out to be a very expensive bike in the end

For a bike with only 3400 mls it's got a lot of wear (seat,disc ect) although it looks useable the engine will need reconditioning as those seals would be perished with age. I agree with other comments, £2500 max.

That isn't a B-model tank design .. and anyway, the 250B is 1977 (not 1976). So, what do we have here really. A 250B (1977) with the wrong tank? Or a 250A (1976) with the wrong side-covers. Or a hybrid of one or the other. Or both. Or all of the above.

A slight hybrid but a lovely looker, if it runs as well as it looks you can't go wrong 👌

Great engine, overborred 250, gives 315cc, and 32 mm carbs, the 69/70 model had the same heads than the 250, both bikes looked identical, so they made the rebel , in 72 they lowered the power to 36 hp because this 315 was faster than the new 380 triple which was heavy and slower….

Pity Suzuki like Kawasaki got sucked into the hype and made their small triples.. both had very competitive 350 twins that could have brought fame on road and track, like Yamaha 350s

I was flicking through the television channels the other night and came across a film called Riding High, so bad you really have to watch it, starring Eddie Kidd it was a rolling advert for the Yamaha DT175MX and all the daft things we all did as teenagers then.

I've got a 78 DT 175MX in the garage in bits ...its about time I restored it. Great bikes.😎

40 plus years later, it doesn't matter whether you rode a PE, KDX, IT or XR, they are all fantastic bikes now!

I had one when I was 12 do I had to buy another. It scared me witless so I sold it a few years later.

Had one of these really nice to ride but need a lot of maintenance.

I had one, rock solid bike. It still had the stock top end when I sold it to get a PE250.

DT 175 MX was a much better bike imo

I preferred the DT175MX, but found the DT250MX a pleasure to ride on the road. I always felt it could do with a little more power and a lot less weight!

Same year and model I ended up with a knackered up old one of in my younth. I'd ridden 50 cc bikes including a ported TY50 but when I got this shed of a thing back together out of boxes of bits and a rolling chassis and got it fired up first thing it did to my 7st. arse was to try and kill it. Boy did THAT hurt but I was in love then so every time I got petrol money I'd take it to the 'spare land' somewhere and beat the hell out of it 🙂

I remember we had one in a kart that we had as a toy we took it on an industrial estate regularly it was flat out most of the time until dave spun it and hit the kerb

I had one just like this, but uk spec so no ypvs. It was years after I`d passed my test and bought it just giggles, soon found out what a fantastic little bike they are. One of my favourites.

I had one exactly the same , but mine had a micron exhaust and ktn filter loved it always getting looks everything i rode it , miss the old girl .

Got ypvs model all speed exhaust goes like rocket seen 95 mph speedo wind behind me probably be 80-85 true speed pulls gears quick sadly don't ride it these days don't want get smashed up.
